Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Devraj Chakraborty, husband of renowned Trinamool Congress MLA and singer Aditi Munshi, faced another round of questioning by the CBI in the ongoing teacher appointment corruption case. Appearing at the CBI office at Nizam Palace on Wednesday morning, Chakraborty had received notice on Tuesday. This marks the second interrogation within a week, with the central agency recovering crucial documents during a previous search at his residence.
In a related development, councilor Bappaditya Dasgupta, associated with former education minister Partha Chatterjee, was also interrogated. Both Chakraborty and Dasgupta had their homes searched by the CBI, resulting in the recovery of significant documents, including TET candidates' marksheets and appointed teachers' transfer documents, implicating them in the appointment corruption case.
Chakraborty, who was previously interrogated on January 25, had been served notice a day before. The central agency's search at his residence yielded important documents, leading to a second round of questioning.
Concurrently, councilor Bappaditya Dasgupta, closely associated with incarcerated former education minister Partha Chatterjee, also faced interrogation in the same case. The CBI discovered marksheets of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) candidates and transfer documents of appointed teachers during the search at Dasgupta's house, pointing to their involvement in the appointment corruption case.
